are there plans to run the parliament plus folklore show this summer? there will be three of us hoping to do it on Monday 13th June. Also does the folk show include dinner?
Hello, we are interested in a parliament tour (with a folk show) but I cannot figure out how to book it from this web page. Can you help me? We are planning to be in Budapest between March 27-April 2.
Hello Lena,
If you’re interested in seeing both the Hungarian Parliament and a traditional Hungarian folk show in Budapest some tour operators may offer combined packages, or you can place them in the same basket as in a webshop —but in many cases, it’s simpler and more flexible to book them separately, since they run on different schedules.
The Parliament tour lasts around 45–60 minutes and must be booked in advance. This can be limited in availability and most of the time only package options remain (e.g. Parliament tour plus bus tour combined). You’ll need your passport to enter, and tours are available with audioguides in several languages, including English. You can reserve your ticket through multiple channels (unfortunatley the official site sells out many weeks or even months in advance)
.
Folk dance shows usually take place in the evening (often on river cruise boats) and often include a 3-course Hungarian dinner, complete with live music, traditional dancing, and classic dishes like goulash. They tend to last about 3 hours, or 2 hours. e.g. https://budapestrivercruise.com/folk-dance-show-on-budapest-evening-cruise
Whether you choose a combined tour or book each experience separately, be sure to check the schedules and pricing—especially since there may be differences for EU and non-EU visitors. And don’t forget to book ahead of time, as both Parliament tours and folk shows can sell out quickly during the busy season.
